The Biden administration made history last week, but not the kind that most Americans will celebrate. In a tight, near party-line vote, the Senate confirmed the president’s transgender pick for deputy secretary of HHS, Rachel Levine — whose idea of “health care” is sterilizing and mutilating young children.
“This is a scary time in American history,” former HHS leader Roger Severino said. And after Levine’s first statement on the job, that might be an understatement.
“As I prepare to take my oath of office and begin serving as assistant secretary for Health,” the former Pennsylvania health official said, “I would like to take this opportunity to address members of the LGBTQ community… In particular, I want to address transgender youth. DeSantis Vows To Issue Executive Order To Ban ‘Vaccine Passports’ In Florida

New York last week became the first state in the nation to implement a  COVID-19 “vaccine passport.”

While other states are set to follow suit, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wants not part of it .“It’s completely unacceptable for either the government or the private sector to impose upon you the requirement that you show proof of vaccine to just simply participate in normal society,” the Republican said. “You want to go to a movie theater, should you have to show that? No. You want to go to a game, a theme park? No. So we’re not supportive of that.”

One of the major religion-related news headlines today revolves around the decline of Christianity in North America. Western Europe is now considered post-Christian and surveys consistently report declines in religious belief, attendance, and self-identification.


Yet, over the last century, there has been a pronounced shift of Christianity from the Global North to the Global South, with dramatic growth of Christian populations in places like sub-Saharan Africa and East Asia. 


This phenomenon appears to be continuing in the 21st century. This article provides a nuanced analysis to a big, global question about the world’s largest religion: is it shrinking, or is it shifting?
