Moments After Trump Floats Tom Cotton For SCOTUS, Cotton Says ‘It’s Time For Roe V. Wade To Go’
Republican Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton said that it is “time for Roe V. Wade to go” moments after President Donald Trump floated Cotton’s name as a possible Supreme Court Justice pick.
When Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh replaced former Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy after a highly contentious confirmation process, progressive groups, media and activists alike said Kavanaugh was the fifth vote needed to overturn Roe v. Wade. But those warnings didn’t come to fruition after the Supreme Court struck down a law in June that would have significantly restricted abortion access.
Should Cotton be nominated to the Supreme Court, the Arkansas senator could be that fifth vote. (RELATED: Liberal Groups Warned That Kavanaugh Would Push SCOTUS Dramatically To The Right. Their Fears Haven’t Been Met)
TEXAS SCHOOL DISTRICT TAKES AWAY 8TH GRADE ASSIGNMENT COMPARING POLICE TO KKK
SEPTEMBER 9, 2020 | FROM BRYAN BRAMMER
Father, help us to maintain justice and to do what is right in Your eyes. Isaiah 56:1
A Texas school district has removed an 8th grade assignment that compared police officers to KKK members and slave owners amid backlash from parents and law enforcement groups.
The social studies assignment, given to students at Cooper Junior High in Wylie, Texas, used a political cartoon to depict five similar scenes: African-American men face down on the ground with their hands restrained behind their backs and a white man’s knee on their neck. Throughout the scenes, the black man says he cannot breathe.
Among the five different white men, one was dressed in a white KKK robe while another resembled Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin.
After the assignment was posted online by an unidentified eighth-grade teacher, parents immediately filed their complaints with the Wylie Independent School District.
Vice President of the National Fraternal Order of Police Joe Gamaldi sent a letter to Wylie ISD Superintendent David Vinson in August denouncing the assignment.
“I cannot begin to tell you how abhorrent and disturbing this comparison is, but what is more disturbing is that no adult within your school thought better before sending this assignment to children,” Gamaldi wrote.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott also condemned the district’s assignment and said the teacher responsible “should be fired.”
Shortly following the public outcry, Wylie ISD issued a statement claiming that the cartoons “are not part of the district’s curriculum resources or documents.”
“We are sorry for any hurt that may have been caused through this lesson. The assignment has been removed, and students will not be expected to complete it,” the statement read.
David Fitzsimmons, the Arizona Daily Star cartoonist who created the image, defending his work.
“I’m impressed the National Fraternal Order of Police is directing its fury at an illustration revealing how our present horrors are mere echoes of our cruel past… Perhaps it requires too much moral courage, or honest clear-eyed reflection, for the National Fraternal Order of Police to funnel their fury at the few racist police officers who disgrace their oath and their badges by disproportionately murdering African-Americans,” Fitzsimmons said.

1 Out Of Every 5 Churches In America May Not Survive

Whenever a major economic downturn happens, churches and charities always get hit really hard. Cutting back on giving is often the very first step that people take when it comes time to reduce expenditures, and that is extremely unfortunate.
But of course you can’t get blood out of a rock, and there are tens of millions of Americans that have lost jobs in 2020 and so they don’t have any extra money to give at this point.
Approximately 59 million Americans have filed new claims for unemployment over the past 24 weeks, and we are seeing absolutely massive lines at food banks all around the nation.
In such an environment, it was inevitable that there would be a collapse in charitable giving, and it is being reported that major U.S. charities have already “lost billions in revenue”…
Charity organizations have lost billions in revenue during the pandemic, making the sector one of many to seek support from Congress at a time when negotiations over another COVID-19 relief package show little sign of a breakthrough.
We have never seen anything like this before, and things have already gotten so bad that Barna Group president David Kinnaman is projecting that 1 out of every 5 churches in America “could be forced to shut their doors in the next 18 months”…
The president of the Barna Group says it’s possible as many as 1 in 5 churches may not survive the shutdowns and changes brought on by the COVID virus and could be forced to shut their doors in the next 18 months.
In an interview on NPR’s program “Here And Now” earlier this week, Barna Group president David Kinnaman said their surveys show confidence among pastors that their churches will make it through the pandemic has declined from more than 70 percent in May to around 58 percent now.

Exclusive — U.S. Ambassador to France Denies The Atlantic Story: ‘POTUS Has Never Denigrated Any Member of U.S. Military’
U.S. Ambassador to France and Monaco Jamie McCourt told Breitbart News exclusively on Monday that the Atlantic story about President Donald Trump allegedly bashing troops is untrue.
Ambassador McCourt was there the day President Trump’s team called off the trip to the cemetery at Belleau Wood because of inclement weather. She is the latest U.S. official who was actually present at the event to publicly deny the Atlantic’s account of events, which is based entirely on anonymous sources.
Needless to say, I never spoke to the Atlantic, and I can’t imagine who would,” McCourt told Breitbart News. “In my presence, POTUS has NEVER denigrated any member of the U.S. military or anyone in service to our country. And he certainly did not that day, either. Let me add, he was devastated to not be able to go to the cemetery at Belleau Wood. In fact, the next day, he attended and spoke at the ceremony in Suresnes in the pouring rain.”
McCourt’s denial regarding the Atlantic comes after former White House deputy chief of staff Zach Fuentes, a top confidante of former chief of staff John Kelly, denied the story earlier on Monday in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News.
In addition to Fuentes, former National Security adviser John Bolton has denied the account—as has every other person who could have witnessed the president saying this: officials who were there, from former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to senior adviser Stephen Miller to advisers such as Jordan Karem and Derek Lyons. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who was traveling with the president there, has also denied the report. In addition, first lady Melania Trump has denied the report and called the Atlantic article fake news.
While Kelly himself has not said anything publicly at this stage, Fuentes’s denial essentially serves as a denial from Kelly. That’s because Fuentes, in his denial, made clear that Kelly would not have stood idly by if Trump had, in fact, made the remarks that were alleged in the Atlantic story.
“Honestly, do you think General Kelly would have stood by and let ANYONE call fallen Marines losers?” Fuentes asked Breitbart News.
Now, with McCourt’s denial, along with those of everyone else who was in the president’s presence in France during this supposed episode, White House officials familiar with the matter told Breitbart News that there is nobody left who could have witnessed the president say something like this privately about fallen troops:
