‘Null and Void’: Iowa Aims to Expunge Same-Sex Marriageby Ben Johnson

The political battle to defend natural marriage is far from over in the nation’s heartland, as Iowa legislators have introduced two bills that would expunge same-sex marriage from state law and declare a national law redefining marriage “null and void.” The bills come as yet another local Republican Party chapter condemned Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), one of 12 Republican senators who voted for the so-called Respect for Marriage Act.

Republicans in one state seek to end same-sex-marriage recognition —World Net Daily

Republican Iowa legislators introduced a measure Tuesday that seeks to end state recognition of same-sex marriages through an amendment to the state constitution.

The amendment would define marriage as a union between a biologically male and female person. The Supreme Court required states to recognize same-sex marriages in 2015 in Obergefell v. Hodges, and President Joe Biden signed the Respect for Marriage Act into law in December, requiring the federal government to recognize same-sex marriages; Iowa’s amendment would run afoul of federal law, which takes precedent over state law.

“In accordance with the laws of nature and nature’s God, the state of Iowa recognizes the definition of marriage to be the solemnized union between one human biological male and one human biological female,” the proposal reads.

“HR508 is really about Federal government operating far outside its constitutional boundaries. Here, the feds are trying to tell states what ‘marriage’ is and is not,” Republican Iowa state Rep. Brad Sherman said in a statement shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation. “The federal government simply does not have the power to do that. HR508 does not redefine or erase any existing state law regarding same-sex marriage.”

Christian Girls’ Basketball Team Forfeits Tournament Game against School with Biological Maleby Dan Hart

On Monday, it was reported that a Christian high school girls’ basketball team in Vermont forfeited a game in the fourth round of a state championship tournament when it was discovered that a biological male who identifies as a transgender female was on the opposing team’s roster. Experts are applauding the school’s decision, pointing to the physical dangers that male athletes pose to female athletes as well as the infringement on fair play that is created by allowing males to compete against females.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders signs bill banning Arkansas minors from attending drag shows

Drag shows were added to a classification of ‘adult-oriented performance’ which also includes bookstores, cabarets, live entertainment venues, theaters, escort agencies, and nude model studios designated for adults.

(LifeSiteNews) — The governor of Arkansas has signed a bill to prohibit minors from attending drag shows and other events classified as an “adult-oriented performance.”

On Friday, Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders enacted legislation which classifies drag shows as inappropriate for children, effectively barring them from attendance at highly sexualized events.

SB 43 defines an “adult-oriented performance” as “a performance that is intended to appeal to the prurient interest and that features a person who appears in a state of nudity or is seminude; the purposeful exposure, whether complete or partial, of a specific anatomical area, prosthetic genitalia or breasts, or a specific sexual activity.”

The new law prohibits these performances, including drag shows, from “tak[ing] place on public property” and “admit[ting] any minor for attendance.” They are also not permitted to “be funded in whole or in part with public funds.”

Drag shows were added to a classification of “adult-oriented performance” which also includes bookstores, cabarets, live entertainment venues, theaters, escort agencies, and nude model studios designated for adults.

The bill was originally passed by the state Senate on January 24, despite opposition from all six Democrat lawmakers voting on the motion. Following passage in this chamber, the bill was also approved by the Republican-led House and then signed by the governor.

As exposing children to sexually explicit entertainment in the form of cross-dressing men singing and dancing provocatively has become more common, conservative leaders have introduced and passed legislation to protect minors from such exposure. Content from Life Site News

Contending for the Faith Part 4

I have been a Bible student for over 45 years, many of those if not all have been in teaching the Word of God. Over the years I have seen different fads and movements of God proclaimed as the next greatest. Thankfully cooler heads prevailed and we got back to what works best, and that is humility before God and a sincere desire to study and obey the Word.

I have two concerns that I may later elaborate on but one is the new idea that we rely so heavily on the Prophetic. I believe in the Word of God, and every “word” from God must line up with His Word. If it doesn’t it’s false, and if it doesn’t come true it’s false. Case closed. That’s the way it is.

We have become so lazy in this world with all the instant information, that we don’t or won’t seek out the answer in the Bible. We had rather take a quick fix from a “Prophet.” Nothing says Christian more than a dog eared Bible that is about to fall apart.

Final word of warning. Get in a Church or fellowship. Where the whole Bible is taught. It is important that each follower reads and knows the Word of God. Ask questions and contend for the faith! Rh

2 Timothy 3:16-17. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reroof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man or woman of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
