New State Abortion Laws Put Supreme Court Under the MicroscopePro-life reforms in Arkansas, Montana, Arizona raise direct challenge to Roe precedent

A bevy of state laws restricting abortion are ratcheting up the pressure on the Supreme Court to reconsider the lawfulness of the landmark Roe v. Wade decision.

Arkansas passed a sweeping ban on any abortion performed in the state with an exception for those performed to save the health of the mother. The law marks the latest in a line of states considering or passing legislation intended to chip away at legal access to abortion. Pro-life advocates say that a conservative majority on the Supreme Court represents an opportunity for a post-Roelandscape in which abortion laws are returned to state governments, rather than established by the the federal judiciary. Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson (R.) said that his state’s legislation is directly intended to prompt the court to reevaluate Roe. “I signed it because it is a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade,” Hutchinson said. “I think there’s a very narrow chance that the Supreme Court will accept that case, but we’ll see.”

USA Today Looks to Bounce ORU from NCAAEveryone loves an underdog. Well, almost everyone. While the rest of the country rallies around Oral Roberts University, cheering on the Cinderella of this year’s NCAA basketball tournament, USA Today says the slipper doesn’t fit. The small Tulsa college is evangelical, they announce, as if it’s news. That means they believe the Bible. And if they believe the Bible, an editor argues, there should be no place for them on the court — or anywhere else in polite society.

Obviously the elitist are nuts. They are the bigots. I found a new team to root for. Go ORU!!

Gov. Kristi Noem Betrays Conservatives, Embraces RINO Wing of GOP | Todd Starnes

The Republican governor is getting backlash from conservatives for sending the bill back to the legislature Friday via a “style and form” veto.

“Unfortunately, as I have studied this legislation and conferred with legal experts over the past several days, I have become concerned that this bill’s vague and overly broad language could have significant unintended consequences,” Noem said in a letter rejecting the bill.

All of this could very well be true. But my concern is she knew what the bill was a couple of weeks ago when she was excited to sign it. Now not so much. It also makes you wonder if someone didn’t get to her big business Amazon NCAA Chamber of Commerce etc. She’s not who I thought she was. She should have just cost herself any hope of a 2024 run for the presidency. She is definitely not ready, regardless of why she changed her mind. Moral conservatives like myself do not like waffling flip flopers.

Arizona Border Sheriff On Border Crisis: Biden ‘Owns This,’ ‘We Had It Under Control’ Under TrumpBy Daily Wire News

Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels slammed President Joe Biden during a Fox News interview this week for the ongoing crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border, saying that Biden’s reversal of the last administration’s policies have caused a serious problem on the border.

“When President Biden rescinded the emergency order on the southwest border, it stopped resources, and it stopped construction on our border,” Dannels said. “As a result of that, one area where the fence is not complete, we get five or six groups a day coming across there. It’s [opened up] the border. It opened up the message that it’s okay to come in this country. This administration owns this decision. And what it’s doing is it’s forcing us back to 2019, where we had the largest what I call crime scene in the country to include the largest humanitarian situation going on.”

Sweet Home Alabama

God bless Alabama! Thank you for protecting your children! The Alabama senate voted overwhelmingly (23-4) along party lines this week to make gender transitioning hormone therapy and surgery for children a FELONY. Only Democrats voted against this legislation to protect children. As one state senator said, “Children aren’t mature enough to make these decisions on surgeries and drugs.” Of course they’re not—that’s just common sense. This goes before their House of Representatives next. Let’s pray that it will pass. I applaud these legislators and hope other states will follow suit.
