Warning – Mid-Terms Are Coming

Senator Tuberville weighs in on the Republican efforts in the mid-terms.  “We are not doing anything.”

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is among a handful of Senate Republicans publicly expressing frustration about doing everything possible to keep control of the U.S. Senate with the midterm elections looming.

According to a report by The Hill’s Al Weaver, the hopes of passing so-called “big-ticket items” to address affordability concerns this year were “quickly fading away,” according to some Republicans.

In brief remarks to The Hill, Tuberville suggested as much, saying there was little movement by the U.S. Senate.

“Are we doing enough? We’re not doing anything,” he said. “Everybody’s working on getting elected.”

Tuberville, a candidate for governor, has suggested some of the gridlock on Capitol Hill is attributed to the long-standing filibuster rule.

He has been a proponent of ending the filibuster in recent months. In a recent op-ed, the senior U.S. Senator warned of a doomsday scenario without the GOP taking a proactive approach to ending the filibuster.

“Republicans must end the filibuster if we have any hope of keeping a Supreme Court that respects the Constitution,” he wrote. “If we fail, Democrats have already said what they will do when they regain power: pack the courts with radicals who will disregard the Constitution altogether.”  Jeff Poor 1819 News

IMO, we the people have spoken and we haven’t been “paid back” on our investment in the do nothing republican party, especially in the Senate. We have the White House, and both chambers in Congress.  Lots of big talk, but where is the action? Judges need appointment from the Senate, the Save Act needs passing, but nothing.  There is a long laundry list of promises made and very few even attempted, much less kept.

The Filibuster?  What to do with that?  I have mixed emotions.  We all know the fear is what would the democratic socialists do when they regain power?

Here is a list:

  • drop the filibuster
  • pack the supreme court
  • Impeach Trump
  • Do away with the electoral collage
  • open borders
  • raise taxes – they call it (investments)
  • destroy America

Too harsh, I don’t think so.

We have missed a grand opportunity to govern.  Tuberville is right, nothing will get done now.  Recess and campaigning is the mandate now.

Believe me when I say we are just as close to losing our Republic as before the 2024 election.  What has been codified into law?  Where is Trump on the issues, he tries to bully, but that doesn’t work like private business.  Make some deals with Congress, get it done.  Call them into the Oval and lay down the law.  Govern!

Trump must focus on these mid-terms or he will be the biggest lame duck President ever.  Trump on the campaign trail is classic. Make the right endorsements, let the money flow and let’s win these mid-terms. You can do both Mr. President, chase peace and save the country from degenerate democrats.  “America First” means saving our way of life. You have the purse strings, use ‘em.  Money and endorsements are the mothers milk of politics.

I’m not fear mongering, but just making salient points that need to be addressed.  As the crazy Cajun (Carville) once told Clinton, “it’s the economy stupid,”.  Well Mr. President, “it’s the mid-terms.”  Rh

Compromise

We always hear, or at least we used to hear about the art of compromise in politics.  There would be a debate and sides would be established and parameters set. In the end would come a time of give and take and, presto, a consensus would be established and common ground would be achieved.  I am not always in favor of compromise. Sometimes issues are so gravely important that one should stand their ground. Other times compromise provides a great way to give and take and ultimately meet in the middle for the common good.  For example compromise on life issues such as abortion will not happen for me. Spending on the military or amounts to cut from the federal budget are great examples of issues to compromise on. Unfortunately in our day and in the past 40 years the only compromise in Congress usually means conservatives or Republicans are the ones to give.  Democrats are always the takers. Vivid reminder of this is the deal Tip O’Neill and President Reagan worked out to in the 1980’s to cut the federal budget. O’Neil wanted to raise taxes and cut the budget later. Reagan agreed. Taxes went up and the budget was never cut. That my friends is how the Democratic party views compromise.

Never compromise with the enemy.  Are the radical left wingers my enemy, yes if they want to destroy America.  Killing babies up to and including birth, moving us to socialism, doing away with borders, raising taxes to destroy the country, taking our guns away and taking over our health care with medicare for all..making us a European country with death panels, then yes they are my enemy.

I stand for the Constitution and freedoms that have been fought for.  I believe in the American way of life, nothing more nothing less. I will fight the left wing ideas and never compromise.  God save our republic. God Bless America the land of the free and the home of the brave. Never compromise your God given liberties.  Never ever give up the good fight of faith. Never! Ever!
