If you live in the United States of America, please call your Senators and tell them to vote no on this hideous religious persecution bill that was just passed by the house. It does nothing for a quality. It will strip churches and religious organizations from running their organization according to their faith tenets. I will not comply with it. I will obey God rather than man. It will take 10 Republican senators to commit political suicide to get this bill up for a vote. Call your Senators and tell them in no uncertain terms, but very nicely, that they will never win another election if they vote for this hideous monstrosity.
Mississippi joins other states in voting on legislation that would only allow biological females to participate in women’s sports.ByCharlotte Pence Bond•Feb 13, 2021 DailyWire.com•
The Mississippi state Senate passed a bill on Thursday prohibiting transgender athletes from participating in women’s’ or girls’ sports in Mississippi universities and schools.
Lawmakers in eleven other states are introducing similar restrictions regarding athletics and “gender-confirming health care for transgender minors this year,” according to The Associated Press.
Exhibit A is Biden’s most recent endorsement, which came from the National Center for Transgender Equality Action Fund. In a Tuesday press release, Executive Director Mara Keisling was positively effusive:
Joe Biden is the advocate and president we need at this consequential moment. He has the temperament, the experience and wisdom to lead our country. Throughout his career in public service, work as a private citizen through the Biden Foundation, and now his campaign to lead our nation, Biden has demonstrated his commitment to transgender people and the LGBTQ community.
In a ringing 13-minute denunciation of the Supreme Court’s Bostock sex discrimination decision, the youngest man in the U.S. Senate urged America’s religious conservatives to demand a new “bargain” from Republican leaders as a condition for their future support.
“If this case makes anything clear, it is that the bargain that has been offered to religious conservatives for years now is a bad one, it’s time to reject it,” Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) declared on the Senate floor June 16.
“The bargain has never been explicitly articulated, but religious conservatives know what it is,” Hawley said. “The bargain is you go along with the party establishment, you support their policies and priorities, or just keep your mouth shut about it, and in return, the establishment will put some judges on the bench who supposedly will protect your constitutional rights to freedom of worship, to freedom of exercise.
“That’s what we’ve been told for years now, and we were told that we’re supposed to shut up while the party establishment focuses more on cutting taxes and handing out favors for corporations, multinational corporations who don’t share our values, who will not stand up for American principles, who are only too happy to ship American jobs overseas.
“But we’re supposed to say nothing about that, we’re supposed to keep our mouths shut, because maybe we’ll get a judge out of the deal.”
Hawley’s ire was sparked by the high court’s June 15 decision in the Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia case in which by a 6–3 vote, the justices said the 1964 Civil Rights Act’s bar against sex discrimination in hiring isn’t limited to biologically determined sex but also covers sexual orientation and gender identity (including gender change).
It is a sad day in the United States of America. Let me say I as a Christian do not want harm or loss of job to anyone in America, however when a Church or other Christian organization would have to hire a gay person that is a wrong. Deeply held morality from bodies of faith should and must be kept. What is even more shocking is that a conservative justice Gorsuch appointed by Trump has joined the libs on the court. Roberts is and always will be a loose cannon, but Gorsucch? One never knows the way an appointee will vote. I will be curious to know if this will include hiring of LGBTQ persons or not. If so, it will send ramifications through the faith community. Churches should have the right and employees to hire who they want.
I understand this ruling was on a certain particular case that had nothing to do with faith institutions, but does anyone think it will end there. No, they are and always have been coming for Churches.
