Please don’t misunderstand my comment. Our leaders are making difficult decisions in difficult circumstances and we need to pray for them. My comments are more about how people have reacted. How willingly freedoms are being given up just to feel safe.  How many freedoms are people willing to give up in order to feel safe about any national foe, whether COVID-19 or the next threat?
A sense of social responsibility has entered our culture like I have never witnessed. Have you seen mask wearers at the grocery store look condescendingly at the non-mask wearers?  There seems to be a new breed developing of those who choose the good of the collective state and feel a sense of righteousness for their views and choices. If this choice of the collective over individual freedoms continues unstopped, we will be headlong into socialism and not even realize it.

This super social responsibility is fueling a perceived obligation that government is our ONLY provider for safety.  Christians who have a biblical worldview (and many don’t) should question the unchecked willingness of people to obey any authority other than the God of the Bible.

Covid 19 Models

To anyone with any kind of common sense knows that the model used to shut the world down was not only flawed, but possible corrupt in the implication.  The Imperial College researchers ran a model that projected more than 500,00 deaths in Great Britain, and 2 million deaths in the U.S. as a result of Covid-19.  I distinctly remember hearing our President at a news conference state, that in the next two weeks the US would suffer over 200,000 deaths.  That briefing occurred about a month ago.  It never came close to that morbid number as I and many others knew.  Just as with Global Warming models that  are always shewed to cause fear and alarm.  Will justice come to those who caused the shutdown over flawed models?  Not sure that could be done, but at the very least questions should be asked and answered.  I am not holding my breath.  Un elected bureaucrats seem to lead a charmed life where none are held accountable.  Misery is not their problem,  Being the smartest egg head in the room is.

I was born in the 1950’s.  

I graduated High School during a turbulent time in American history. Vietnam  war hippies, flower children, drug abuse, death and total distrust for Government and politicians.  Distrust for any over the age of 30. Feeling that my generation would change the world.

We didn’t!

Why?

We became the world.  

We grew up, had families, got jobs and blended into the culture.  We became just what we had earlier despised. No worries, we all do it.  Where are those rebels now? Why is it so easy to trust people with an agenda?  Why do we trust when it takes our freedoms away? Why do we walk lockstep the party line without question and them become informants for the “ruling class”?  Lines are being blurred between liberty and the good of all. What will we look like as a society when this crisis is over. Can we go back to normal? What happens when the next crisis hits?  Listen close, that sound you hear just may be the beginning cracks of our Constitution.

Rebels without a cause become sheep.
